6 EFFECTIVE WAYS TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF DAILY

Motivation comes in all forms, but if you really want to have a great impact in your own life then you have to recognize what drives you to be motivated.

Many people believe there’s a magical pill to feel motivation on a consistent basis, especially if you’re someone who is specifically triggered from others to help you get there. There’s nothing wrong with getting a motivational boost from other people that inspires you. Unfortunately, it’s not always realistic and it shouldn’t be the main source to get energized.

To be motivated of your own life is not difficult to accomplish. You just have to be intentional and be willing to do it for yourself. It’s all about honoring the journey you are in and believing how you deserve much more for yourself. Luckily, I will share six simple effective ways you can motivate yourself starting today.

  1. KEEP YOURSELF CENTERED

You are in a space where you want to achieve so much for yourself that the thought of it all can be exhilarating. However, as time goes on that feeling can become overwhelming and suddenly switch to unattainable.

The best advice I can give to you is to simply stay calm and center yourself. Finding your balance is key because it will help you build a relationship with yourself. It’s imperative to master yourself especially when it comes to pursuing your goals. This includes asking yourself, who am I? What am I capable of? What are my intentions? How far will I go to get what I want? What are my plans? What do I believe in? Is my passion strong enough to drive me to keep going? What is my why? Do I believe in God and have faith to rely on him for my entire journey? Will I embrace my fears and find the strength to face it alone when it’s necessary to do so? What will I do in my present to prepare for my future?

Learning about yourself is a never ending journey and that’s the beauty in living this life of ours. Encourage yourself by learning your needs and wants in the life you are trying to build or create for yourself. I promise once you do that you will be highly satisfied with what you will find.

2. STAY MENTALLY POSITIVE

Life can definitely throw us a curve ball. There will be many times where you won’t have control on what happens throughout your day.

The best advice I can give you is to keep yourself mentally positive no matter what you’re going through in the moment. Remind yourself this too shall pass and think about what lessons can I get from this current situation to have a better future. Everything you feel is temporary. The highs and the lows. Your life is literally a roller coaster ride that goes up and down every single day, and it’s up to you in how you give your energy to certain things that occurs within your life.

To stay mentally positive means to think beyond your current circumstances knowing that your timing is coming as long as you stay focus and know what your end goal will be. Not only do you shape your mindset with positive thinking, but you will also increase incredible health benefits. This includes:

  • An increased life span
  • Resistance to the common cold
  • Lower rates of depression
  • Better psychological and physical well-being
  • Lower levels of distress
  • Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress
  • Better cardiovascular health and reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease

3. TAKE AWAY DISTRACTIONS

Distractions of any kind is the worse to show up especially when it comes to executing your goals. Not only does distractions take away your attention to what you’re trying to focus on, but it also encourages laziness.

Remember, you want to get to know your why in order to get to the end result. So, to overcome your distractions, give yourself space and time in a “distraction free” zone. This includes eliminating anything that will take away your attention, such as putting your phone in a different room, having the television located in a different room, secluding yourself where no one can enter, speak to you or easily distract you, having noise canceling headphones, using a temporarily website blocker while using the computer so you’re not encouraged to browse on the Internet, and so forth.

It’s not easy but it can be done if you truly want to hit your goals bad enough.

4. RECOGNIZE A FRIENDLY COMPETITION

I don’t know about you but I love to hear about my friends success stories. I love to know that my friends are winning in their lives, especially when they set a specific goal for themselves and later on have it come to fruition. But I will be honest, I allow their successes to be my motivation. The reason for this is because I don’t want to be left behind.

Let me be clear. This has nothing to do with comparing my life to my friends or being jealous of them. All of our lives are completely different and we are very fortunate to be able to still connect and relate to each other. It’s more about being part of a successful circle and appreciating the greatness that we as friends have accomplished for ourselves. That’s why a friendly competition can encourage a deep feeling of motivation.

I encourage working in silence and then sharing the end result because you want to show and prove versus someone who just talks about it but doesn’t take much action to make it work. That’s utterly embarrassing especially if you love to share your goals to your friends and don’t back it up while they are doing their thing and proving it with their own actions. So, instead of being envious of your friends, let your friends wins be your driving force to be encouraged to do better for yourself.

5. BREAK DOWN YOUR GOALS

This is real simple to understand. Your dreams and goals are so big that sometimes you may not know where to begin. This is when paper and pen comes in handy.

You will need to break down your dreams in small effective achievable goals. This means creating a solid plan that will help carry out what can be done by a specific time frame. For example, what goal can you start with to achieve in a month. Once that has been done and executed, what will be the next few goals you can achieve in the next few months that will help you move towards your dreams in its entirety.

To be even more specific with examples, let’s say you want to create your own blog and have a full library of content in your blog by the end of the year. The first thing you will want to do is write down a map plan of the type of blog you want to write about. Is it beauty, gaming, or entrepreneurship?

Once you have decided on a topic, you will now figure out which website platform you want to use and how you will create it . Next, you will decide on a design for your website and organize the look of your website to your liking. That includes creating menus, links, photos, bios, pages, and so forth.

Then you will make a list of all the content you will write about. Create a content calendar to organize a writing schedule. You keep going until the overall of having your own blog is complete by the end of the year.

6. BE KIND TO YOURSELF

Embrace the journey you are in and give yourself grace. Working on your goals on a daily basis can be very tough at times but you have to remind yourself what you are trying to achieve is not built overnight.

There will be times when you will not know the answer to certain things and you will have to step back, re-evaluate what you will need to find the answers, seize the opportunity once you get it, and keep moving forward. Whatever you are striving for will not always be a smooth ride but that’s part of life and sometimes you have to go with the flow.

Also, give yourself the necessary rest you’ll need in order to come back stronger than before. Don’t force yourself to cramp everything in one day. You will burn yourself out real quick. If you have to push back some of your projects for the next few days or weeks than so be it. By doing this, it will not make you a failure. It just simply makes you more determined to get it done without giving up.
