It is not always easy staying motivated in what you want to reach in your life. Many people believe motivation is a feeling that keeps going every single day. Unfortunately, it is not always realistic, and we need to be honest about that. It requires work to stay motivated, especially when it comes to reaching goals for our personal growth.
To be motivated in your own life is not difficult to accomplish. It is the intention behind being consistently driven that makes it hard to achieve. It is all about honoring the journey you are in and believing how you deserve much more for yourself daily. Luckily, I will share six ways you can stay motivated while you successfully develop your personal goals.
- CENTER YOURSELF
You are in a space where you want to achieve so much for yourself that the thought of it all can be overwhelming. Slowly, doubt will creep in, and you will start to feel as if your goals are unattainable.
The best advice is to center yourself and stay calm. Finding balance is the key to building a trusting relationship with yourself.
Take the time to learn who you are and what you can do to get your dreams to come into reality. Dive deep into journaling, shadow work, meditation, positive words of affirmation, sleep, etc. Learning about yourself is a never-ending journey, and it is a beautiful process. You will not get all the answers you are looking for at once, but you will eventually get there.
2. BE MENTALLY POSITIVE
Life can throw us a curveball. There will be many times where you will not have control over what happens throughout your journey.
The best advice is to feed your mental mindset with positive nourishment. For example, get inspiration by attending a museum or art show, reading books in the interests of any topic of your choice, exercising, listening to music, dancing, etc.
When things are not working the way we want them to, we can get lost staying stuck at that moment. Say to yourself whatever this is, this too shall pass. By doing this, you have created a great way to flip the negative into a positive one. Everything you feel and go through will always be temporary. Shape your mindset with positive thinking and increase the incredible health benefits, including resistance to the common cold, lower rates of depression, better cardiovascular heart, and more.
3. DISTRACTIONS BE GONE
Distractions are dream killers to your development and personal growth.
To overcome distractions is to remove them and give yourself space and time. That includes not spending too much time around friends and family to get the job done if they are a distraction to your life. It is not easy, but it can get done. Anyone who truly supports you will understand when you return.
Think about the sacrifice you will have to make in your present self to become a better you for your future self. If your dreams are important enough, you will understand how imperative it is to get rid of anything or anyone that may stand in your way.
4. THE WORD COMPETITION IS YOUR BEST FRIEND
Do not be intimidated by the word competition. Life, in general, is a competition in itself, and you have to know how to fight for it. There is no magic manual that tells you how you should go about doing things. But you can do things your way if it works for you. Receiving great advice is golden, but what you do with that information will help you in the long run.
Having friendly competition gives you the motivation to get you moving forward towards your goals. The best part of it all is recognizing that you are competing with yourself. Every time you hit your goals, think about what is the next thing to achieve. What steps can you take to reach higher and better in shaping your future? What advantages can you take that will benefit your goals and dreams.
5. BREAK DOWN YOUR GOALS
Here is the easiest thing to do. Start by writing down your goals. Everything that you could want for yourself. Then take the most important goals, top five the most, that you would like to achieve by the end of the year. Break them down into smaller goals and give yourself a deadline to reach those goals.
It is all about taking baby steps and having attainable goals that will get done one step at a time. Your goals do not have to be overwhelming or scary. You can accomplish anything as long as you can create a solid plan that will help you move up the ladder when need be.
6. KINDNESS TO YOURSELF IS REQUIRED
Embrace the journey you are in and give yourself kindness and grace. Sometimes, getting to your goals is lonely, and it requires a lot of hard work. We grow impatient with ourselves and downright frustrated at times.
Yet remember, success does not build overnight, and it is okay because no matter what, it will happen when you stay the course. Go with the flow and give yourself credit for doing the necessary work.
You deserve to rest when needed. You deserve to treat yourself well. You deserve time off and go away for the weekend. You deserve to temporarily push projects back a few days or weeks if you don’t feel confident about it. You deserve a total reset if need be.
You are not a failure if things aren’t always smooth. It just simply makes you more determined to get it done without giving up on yourself. You come first before anything else. That is why being kind to yourself is an everyday requirement with no negotiations.
